Cousins, gossiping and food!

Yesterday night was amazing! Didn't club, didn't drink, didn't party. Just plain 'ol good cousin fun! Met Clara and Seowhui at VIVO and initially wanted to do some shopping but it was so disappointing! F21 was such a scam! They had this huge clearance sale but everything was so ugly because all that was left were the shiny blinged up clothes, ugly shirts, thick pullovers and all in huge sizes!

Went to Sephora and bought brushes and a makeup brush cleaner too! Their stuff is expensive but I now feel that I would rather spend a few tens more on make up that has a lot better quality than buy cheapo makeup and spoil my face or have the brush hairs drop everywhere.

So after that we went to Marche for dinner! Yum! Had the salad bar but I took all the unhealthy stuff like ham, creamed cauliflower, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. Not exactly unhealthy, but all I can say is that, there wasn't really any greens in my "salad" other than a few sticks of sliced cucumber haha!

With Clara waiting in line to enter! We had to queue to enter, and then queue to leave.

 My pretty sister <3

Really need to fix my hair! It's so unkempt and unhealthy now! And the dye is also so faded! Should I dye an even lighter shade of brown and go even more ombre or just dye my whole head one colour? I shall decide while waiting to recover after my op!

With Seowhui! Our tummies were grumbling at this time!

The fun part of the dinner was when we started gossiping! Haha it wasn't really gossip. We were just talking about people. We talked about our parents, about how we were not really satisfied with how our parents were so conservative. About some of our other cousins but I shall not reveal too much about what we said here. It was really fun though!

Even though we were stuffed, we still went to Starbucks to get satisfy our coffee cravings. Well I didn't exactly have cravings. I've been drinking a huge cup of coffee every morning. But we didn't have enough of our chatting session to end the day after dinner so we went to Starbucks! Bought a cup of Asian Dolce Frappe and I really like it! Still prefer Dark Mocha though but this was pretty good too! I like the whipped cream! I'm not really a fan of whipped cream but this whipped cream had coffee flavour.

It was really funny while ordering.

Me: Does the Hojicha Tea Latte still have the jelly?
Starbucks barista: No it does not have the jelly anymore
Me: Oh well can I still have it in tall size?
Starbucks barista: Oh we don't have the Hojicha Tea now as well.
Me: .............

And also,

Me: Can I have the Asian Dolce iced with a tiny amount of whipped cream?
Starbucks barista: Sure!

While collecting my drink, the barista added such a tiny dollop of whipped cream it was hilarious! Haha it was the size of a toenail. Yes, that was the size of it. Haha we had such a good laugh over it!

Seowting joined us too and we continued our talking session. We also made plans to go out sometime again soon! But definitely not at VIVO! It's so boring! Especially since F21 was going to be renovating soon. Maybe another shopping trip during the GSS later this year!

Well so that was our fun night! Just came back from a run with Zihow and I am so unfit right now! I promise I'll go exercising more! (Well, that's what I always say) Also, I promise to do my university applications tonight! I've put it off too much and I need to get it over and done soon!

Here's a cute picture to end this post off!

Update after a long while and some ramblings

Haven't been updating in a very long while and not to make any excuses but here's the main reason: I am holding two full-time jobs at the moment. It's really crazy. Here's my working schedule. Mon - Wed: 7.30am to 3pm at Outram, 3.30pm to 8.30pm at Kembangan. That's 13 hours a day for three days! Then Thur - Fri: 7.30am to 5pm. Sat: 9.30am to 6.30pm. Sun: 2pm to 4pm.

Aside from working seven days a week, my jobs require me to use up a lot of my energy too because I am teaching at Kembangan. I am really starting to feel the effects of my long working hours. Huge eye bags, intense dark eye circles, back aches and constant yawning and stoning. Yeah I am a mess now. On the other hand, in a few more weeks, I will be undergoing a surgery and I can rest all I want then.

Well okay, I have been lazy to update as well. Somehow everytime I reach home at night, my priority would be to watch old episodes of shows such as As Told By Ginger or That's so Raven instead of blogging or applying for university (Yikes!)

Ok here are some updates:

So on 1 Mar 2013, I went back to TJ to receive my A Level results with Chrystal. Shall not reveal my results but all I can say is, I am not satisfied or happy with it, but I am thankful and appreciative that at least it can get me into the course I my mum wants.

Then a few days later my family went to Ssikkek at Novena to celebrate Clara and Clement's birthdays. Korean bbq! *makes disgusting slurping noises* It was crazy crowded. Not a really good experience. The food was good but the crowd, noise and stuffy interior makes the whole dining experience quite unjoyable.

The next few pictures were taken at Ion's The Marmalade Pantry. The food is really expensive (for me) but still worth it because it was so good! I loved everything we ordered!

Chrystal's crab-meat linguine in the background and my scallop linguine looking so delicious!

This desert is heavenly! I am craving for it right now looking at the picture. The hot cake paired with the cold ice cream and salty caramel drizzle is so perfect. Mmm~ It's called Toffee Date something something something.

My outfit for the night! Omg my shoes were killing me that night! The back gave my feet huge blisters and the front kept pinching my toes! I hate closed toe heels!

Lemon meringue sponge cake that looks like a lion hehe!

Ok then we headed to Sephora! Bought a new mascara and a new lipstick! Lancome's Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara and MAC's lipstick (a bright orange colour). Love them so much! I am obssessed with orange lipsticks at the moment! I feel that the colour really suits me because I have tan skin.

And this is a picture of the mascara on my eyes! It's so good because it lasts the whole day and it looks so natural on lashes because the lashes do not clump and spread out so nicely. The mascara cost me $50 though. Pricey but the quality is superb! Still waiting for the Maybelline Rocket mascara to come to Singapore after hearing so many good reviews about it online!

Went to NUS open house on 16 Mar.

My outfit for the day. Love love love my parka. Got it at Bangkok for damn cheap and I'm so obsessed with it!

Anyway, I am thinking about taking Mechanical Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering) with a business minor and staying at Sheares/Kent Ridge hall. I don't know whether Mechanical Engineering is the right path for me. Four years doing something I am not passionate about. Am I doing the right thing? Should I choose based on my head or my heart. Something that will earn me big bucks in the future or something that I like? Can somebody please help me :(

After the open house I met up with a few of the FG people and we ate at Aston's for dinner before going to St. Games Cafe to play this game called RockStar Band. Haha love it! Feel like going back!

Here's a picture of me and one of my students at Frankel. She is so mischievous and cheeky! But she's really funny and sweet and talented as well! She takes piano, swimming, canoeing, ballet and several tuition classes. I think she doesn't have any free time in her schedule. Quite sad if you ask me. But then again, that's something like what I'm doing to myself isn't it.

Ok that's all for my update. I'm thinking of doing a review for the Lancome mascara soon! :) Till then~

Shopping buddy!

I have been shopping so much lately it's crazy! Spent so much but I guess that's the best part about working right now! You get to spend your own pay however you like it. Should stop this habit before I become a full shopaholic though! .....Unless I manage to really hook a rich husband in the future! Then I shall shop everyday haha! What, a girl can dream, can't she.

Haha this is what my contact picture is on Chrystal's phone! Double chin ;-) Shall think twice everytime I need to contact her in future hahaha! Went shopping with her and we bought shoes! And socks from Topshop and I got myself a lipstick from Topshop! I want to get another lipstick! Something of an orangey shade just to try the colour on myself and well, try out different colours. It's through experimenting that we find our perfect shade right? Haha. I prefer the lipsticks from Revlon although Topshop's lipsticks have super cute packaging! Yes, I am a sucker for cute packaging! They seem to influence my decision greatly when I purchase stuff!

Results are out next Friday...... What am I going to do I am not prepared to face the consequence of me not studying hard enough. I really wish I could "do-over" the A level period. I don't care how much suffering it was, I just hate the feeling of regret right now. I haven't been one to cry over results because there is no point crying over spilt milk. But in this case, there is just a gut feeling in me that it will be so bad, that I will cry my eyes out on the spot.

Please, please, please, let it be alright. xx

Best and most affordable concealer!

It's been awhile since I've updated! Well, back with a post on a review on a concealer I got recently and have been loving! It's the LA Girl HD Pro Concealer! I can only find it in Sasa stores in Singapore. It's not in Watsons/Guardian. The concealer is sold in little tubes like this! At SGD$9, this little tube of gold is definitely value for money!

The size of the tube is around an average person's ring finger size. This tube is definitely enough to last a long time because the coverage is so good that you only need to use a little to cover dark eye rings/blemishes!

The concealer comes with a brush applicator at the tip but I do not like to use the brush because I find it easier to blend with my fingers. So what I would do is to squeeze the concealer out, dab some on my fingers and use on my face! Do be careful though because a gentle squeeze would squeeze out more than enough to cover a lot.

The shade I am using is Pure Beige. I think Sasa only carries two shades. This and Medium Bisque. I bought both shades because I have no idea which shade suits me better! I think Pure Beige suits me better though!

And it does not make use of animal testing! *Gives nod of approval*

..............After applying the concealer on one eye! Trust me on this, I used very little and it covered my dark eye rings completely!

Even though it is super "unglamorous", here's a side-by-side comparison! My right eye has the concealer applied and left eye is left untouched. Notice the difference?

Now with both eyes done. It blends easily, stays on for long hours and provides awesome coverage!

Satisfied!!!

This is a swatch using the brush applicator. I just swiped the brush and this much came out. Did not even squeeze!

Overall, I'm really satisfied with this concealer and will definitely repurchase after I finish using mine. The small tube also means that I can carry it out with me and can retouch my makeup outside! Although trust me, this concealer is so lasting you wouldn't need to touch up your concealer.

Have been doing so much shopping recently. Shall do another review on the new Maybelline Eyeshadow Colour Tattoo! Bought the Tough as Taupe colour. And if I'm free, will post my clothing and shoe hauls too! As well as the new bag that just arrived from online. Love it so much I just wanna carry it everywhere to show it off now!

Zouk!

Zouk with some FG-ians last Sat! Haha one of a kind class outing yeah~ Ended work and rushed home, had dinner and changed and left! Ended up 30 mins late to meet Rhine, JJ and Hao Zhe but everyone was late anyway!!! HAHA! Took a train down to Tiong Bahru and bought mixers, then bused down to Zouk.

HaoZhe and Wenting brought some alcohol first to drink before going into the club and haha this is HaoZhe acting manly hahaha!

Didn't even get nowhere near light-headed. The alcohol was too little and the guys bought more beer but nah, it's too mild and gives a large belly. No use! Haha! Next time really need to bring more alcohol.

Pretty bbg <3
Following pictures taken while the guys went to buy some beer haha~

MPY!! Haha means Mei Peng You!

Was really sober the whole night so it wasn't as fun as the previous time but this time at least I was aware of my surroundings. Haha I think it's quite cool that clubs are so biased towards girls. Cheaper entry and getting to stand on platforms to dance haha! It was so funny when once on the platform there was one guy who kept waving for me to go over and I would ignore and look away and ten minutes later I look back there he was doing the exact same thing haha!!! And there was another guy who was with a girl (I think she was his girlfriend because they were hugging a lot the whole time) and she was really wasted so she got off the dancefloor and he came back and he was beside the platform and started to try and get me to dance with him. What a desperate, deprived dude haha. Last weird dude is this one that was standing in front of the platform right in front of me and Chew Ern just stoning and staring, not moving at all wtf.

But overall I had fun with them and super thankful that they really took care of me and Chew Ern and made sure that we were safe. Haha I think they are a good bunch to club with because you know that you can trust them. Especially Wen Ting and Jeramyn. Could really see that they will look out for their friends.

Shopping for CNY clothes, Chew Ern's house warming, CNY coming up. Busy, busy, busy!
